Our bike services
Service packages are templates upon which we start our repair interaction. Twelfth City Cyclery will service-write your bike with you before starting work so that we can understand our options, budget and timescales so that we can calibrate expectations. The services described below absolutely include e-bikes.
Twelfth City Cyclery is committed to keeping cyclists riding and customers happy. We offer a reasonable guarantee on our work encouraging customers to communicate openly with us and every bike that crosses our threshold gets assessed before work is completed. This is so that we and the client can understand budget, time, and quality expectations.
GOLD
For bikes that deserve special attention, we strip down, clean and rebuild.

Full strip down and clean
(threaded components will be assessed individually for their integrity)
Off-bike bioremedial drivetrain clean
Shift cable replacement or firmware update
Brake cable replacement or discounted brake bleed (where applicable)
Silver service
SILVER
Typically for bikes that missed last season and got busy getting grimey.

Includes:
Bronze service
Replace inner & outer shift cables
Adjust wheel, headset, and BB bearings where necessary
BRONZE
Typically for lightly used and/or well maintained younger bikes.

Includes:
General clean
Brake adjustment
Gear adjustment inc. lube
Tyre & tube check (adjust/advise where necessary)
Bolt torque check (adjust/advise where necessary)
Some bikes are being raced weekly, so a Gold service offers valuable confidence and a defence against high wattage, bomb-dropping riding conditions but some forgotten about shed-bikes need a Gold service seasonally to keep clocking the weekend miles. Lots of bikes can benefit hugely from a Bronze service to make it from one sunny summer day to the next, many months later. Silver services are the ones that fall somewhere in the middle but everyone can benefit from new shift cables. It’s too cheesy to say your bike is as individual as you are.

Contact us for specific prices - we can offer suggestive pricing but all work agreed will be based on an assessment of the bike.
Wheel
We can make sure your wheels are straight, round and centred. We can make sure they turn and don't wobble. If you want, we can build you some brand new ones from parts.
Trues from £20
Brakes
A good friend always says the easiest way to go faster is to have better brakes. It also keeps you safe, which is nice. We can work with road or mountain discs, caliper, u-, V-, coaster brakes…so there’s a good chance we’ll stop you. We can replace cables, replace pads, replace hoses, bleed and fully rebuild (most).
Bleeds from £25
Drivetrain
Find it, don’t grind it. We’ll replace the whole drivetrain, replace cables or help diagnose software. A lot of bikes benefit from a derailleur hanger straighten and a very good clean - both of which we offer.
Adjustments from £20
Cockpit
If 820mm is too wide for you, we can help. We can install new grips or wrap your drop bars.
Bar wraps from £20
Tyre
We can change tyres and tubes of course, or we can help you get rid of your tube if you want to get some secret sauce (MTB and road (although less recommended).
We replace tubes rather than patch punctures.
Tube install from £12 inc. tube
Suspension
Whether single- or double-squish we can help make sure it still squishes. We’ll help with squishing up, squishing down, and squishing at the right speed.
With respect to our education, experience and tooling we set limits where appropriate.
50-hour service from £65
Build inc. Custom and from-boxed
We can help you build up the new bike you bought with all the money you saved not going out this last while!
Dream build? We can definitely help build and advise on a Dream build.
Builds from £60
Labour
You might put applying protection film on a bike in this category (usually £200, inc. kit FYI).
We’re trying to do everything at least once, so if it’s a bike thing and it’s not listed here we charge labour from £60/hour.
£25 for a chain this season could be the difference between tightening cables or replacing a £250 drivetrain next season.
Our off-bike services
We try to learn from every bike we see come through our stands, and that is knowledge we are always happy to pass on. While bike assessments and most casual advice is free, we get excited about building Dream Builds almost as much as you do when shopping for them! We can help you get a new ride together whether every component is bespoke setting search filters from high to low, want all the parts to match your favourite stickers or simply want a nice off-the-shelf bike.
We love to meet our riding neighbours and we are always open to presenting at ride-nights. We can show you how we change a tyre, how we shop for a compatible brake pad or what our pre-race check would look like.
